A FRENCH SMALL-SWORD WITH CHISELLED STEEL HILT
Circa 1760
With tapering blade of hollow triangular section etched and gilt with trophies of arms at the forte and signed 'Coulaux Frères Manufr Royale de Klingenthal', the hilt decorated in relief with rocailles and rococo scrollwork inhabited by animals and scenes of the chase, all against a gilt fish-roe ground, the original grip bound with twisted silver wire, silver ribbon, and iron ribbon (now russet) studded with gold rosettes (some wear and rust-staining)
