A SMALL-SWORD WITH GOLD-ENCRUSTED HILT
Early 18th Century, probably French
With slender blade of hollow triangular section with etched, blued and gilt decoration extending over almost its entire length, with a figure of Victory surmounted by the inscription 'A La Victoire' at the forte and the etched signature 'De La Marque Des Mouchettes à Solingen' together with etched crossed keys mark, the russet iron hilt finely decorated with gold scrollwork (some wear), the grip bound with silver ribbon and twisted silver wire
