Circa 1660, probably Dutch
With associated blade of flattened hexagonal section decorated with etching on each side of the ricasso (some wear and pitting), iron hilt comprising asymmetrical double-shell chiselled in relief on the outside with battle scenes in landscapes involving mounted horsemen, chiselled quillons terminating in dragon-heads, and globular pommel chiselled in relief with further mounted horsemen, the grip bound with plaited copper wire
