A FRENCH SMALL-SWORD WITH CHISELLED STEEL HILT

With tapering blade (some rust-staining) of flattened hexagonal section etched on each face of the forte with scrolls, strapwork, and a martial trophy, the hilt finely decorated in relief with rococo ornament against a gilt fish-roe ground framing cartouches embellished with gold-encrusted flowers and foliage (some losses), the grip bound with copper ribbon and twisted steel wire
