An Italian maiolica holy-water stoop
17th/18th Century, perhaps Deruta
The central oval plaque painted with a saint, kneeling, receiving Divine inspiration, flanked by angels supporting a crown beneath a winged cherub's head, the water basin painted with grottesche within scroll-moulded borders (slight chipping to edges)
