A George III mahogany and satinwood longcase clock, late 18th century
With satinwood inlays to swan neck pediment, dentil cornice mouldings above reeded frieze, outset satinwood stop-fluted columns, with conforming dentil mouldings above tracery arch trunk door flanked by inset cluster columns with satinwood inlays to the blocks below, the plinth with reeded and chamfered angles on bracket feet, the 13½in. square brass dial with foliate spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with dot minute track and flower half hour markers, signed Wm. Lawson Keighley, the centre engraved with flowers and a swan and with painted rolling moon, blued steel hands, the four pillar eight day movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; later seatboard -- 91¼in. (231.5cm.) high
