The flat top hood with brass bezel, with arched trunk door, on stepped plinth, the 12in. diameter silvered regulator format dial with blued steel hands, signed G.Carley London, the eight day movement with arched plates joined by five thick pillars, deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, the giltwood rod pendulum with lenticular brass bob and calibrated rating nut suspended from the backboard; brass weight stamped 1844 -- 73¼in. (186cm.) high
