A fine scale model built up from the solid in 3/8" scale with green painted bottom, white topsides and a gold cove stripe. The deck of the model is of veneer and is painted blue. The deck of the model is fitted with a number of details which include: spinnaker pole well, forward hatches, winches, center hatches, traveller, turning blocks, instrument panel in main cockpit, ship's wheel, life rings on aft hatches. The model is sloop rigged with a single mast and boom painted aluminum, stays, halyards and running back stays, and other details. The model is mounted on a pair of brass pillars and displayed in a brass framed glass case with a mahogany base.

The 1967 America's Cup pitted the Olin Stephens-designed Intrepid against Dame Pattie, designed by Warwick J. Hood.It was an easy victory for Intrepid who easily defeated the challenger in four races. Then, in 1970, The first defense involving a challenger elimination series eventually matched the Australians against the returning defender, Intrepid. Despite the most competitive 12-Meter challenge yet, a strong team aboard the defending Intrepid defeated the Austrailian challenger Gretel II in five races.
