An acceptance of a 'very kind offer' of articles from the 'Kenilworth Inventory'. 'The truth is the New Edition of the Waverley novels is started with such a [...] of favour that if it continues as it has begun it will certainly relieve me from a train of inconveniences arising out of the bankruptcy of two great bookselling houses which have rather held my nose to the grindstone', continuing with similar remarks, and undertaking to look into the 'Archaeologia'.
