An unusual Victorian ebonised and gilt-brass mounted striking bracket clock on bracket, circa 1890
The circular case surmounted by the figure of a mermaid holding aloft a shell, with dolphin mounts to the scroll-sided base, on bracket with hinged trellis panel to its platform, mermaid mouts to its scroll supports and Poseidon masks to the gallery, with bezel cast with oak leaves and acorns to silvered Roman chapter ring with foliate scroll engraved centre, signed along the lower track A & H. ROWLEY LONDON, the eight day twin chain fusee movement with anchor escapement and strike on bell, with pendulum holdfast -- 32in. (81.5cm.) high (2)
