An oak thirty-hour longcase clock
The hood with wavy cresting and canted angles, with conforming angles to arched trunk door, on stepped plinth, the 9¾in. square brass dial with foliate spandrels to Roman and Arabic chapter ring, the centre engraved with scene of a fortified harbour and signed Will.m Ball/BICESTER, black painted hands (later minute), the posted frame movement with anchor escapement and outside countwheel strike on bell; dial and movement circa 1780 and associated to case -- 81in.
