A walnut miniature longcase timepiece, early 20th century
The moulded caddy top hood with spiral-twist columns to front and rear, glazed side panels, rectangular trunk door with moulded frame, on stepped plinth with wavy skirting, the 8in. wide brass dial with mask and foliate spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, inscribed Tempus/Fugit on a disc in the arch, the eight day four pillar movement with arched plates, single wire fusee with anchor escapement; movement possibly 19th century -- 66¼in. (168cm.) high
