The waisted case with cherub finial, glazed sides and on dragon feet, the brass dial applied with a shell cast chapter ring inset with individual white enamel Roman and Arabic chapters (some replaced), an enamel centre plaque signed NICOLAS/GOSSEI, blued steel hands, with enamel chapter rings below for day of week and date, flanking an engraved, silvered and painted rolling moon, falseplate to movement with rectangular plates joined by five back-pinned pillars, with twin going barrels and restored pivoted verge escapment with silk suspension and cycloidal cheeks, restored calendar work, outside countwheel for hour strike on bell and restored pull quarter repeat on two further bells -- 27¼in. (69.5cm.) high
