Edo period (19th century), inscribed Yamashiro kuni Nishijin ju Umetada Myoju horimono dosaku
The configuration shinogi-zukuri with iori-mune back, chu-gissaki point and saki-zori curvature, the omote side carved with bo-hi and the ura side with a dragon coiling around a Buddhist ken, the decoration extending down the tang on both sides; forging pattern itame with a suguha tempered edge and a small rounded tip with a small turnback; the tang ubu with two mekugi-ana and horizontal file marks
