Configuration shinogi-zukuri, iori-mune, chu-gissaki, torii-zori; forging pattern ko-itame with a 'shallow-wave' suguha tempered edge, and a large rounded tip; tang shortened with one mekugi-ana and two others now plugged, sujikai file marks
Koshirae comprising a black-lacquer scabbard fitted with a shibuichi kozuka of a rotting bridge post with a centipede, the blade signed Higashiyama ju Oe Gihei, and a wari-kogai with fishing baskets carved in sunken-relief; the hilt with fuchi-gashira with crashing waves and menuki of Chinese lions in shakudo and gilt, the iron plate tsuba carved on one side with confronted stylized beasts
