With domed chimney above a glass shade inscribed 'TILLEY PYREX BRAND 182 HEAT RESISTING MADE IN ENGLAND', the shaft above a white-metal kettle-form reservoir with valve and original pump

Lot Essay

A brass standard lamp of almost identical design to the latter by Perry & Wood, London, was acquired by the Gascoine family for Lotherton Hall and is discussed in C. Gilbert, Furniture at Temple Newsam House and Lotherton Hall, Leeds, 1998, no.739.
