FIRST EDITION, with H3v and H4r in proper order. "This is unanimously acclaimed as one of Massinger's finest tragedies. It has been frequently revived and still retains a good deal of its freshness and power" (Pforzheimer). Massinger himself considered this bleak tragedy to be "the most perfect birth of my Minerva."
