SHUNZHI (1644-61)
Enamelled in iron-red, green, yellow and aubergine and outlined in black with a large phoenix on an iron-red scale-pattern ground in a central roundel, below a band of yellow and red peony-heads with green foliage, the reverse with similar flowers and foliage between a narrow band of classic-scroll at the rim and stylised red and green stiff leaves around the foot-ring
8 7/8 in. (22.5 cm.) diam.
