Lot Essay

This tea service is a fine example of the English-influenced work of Charles-Nicolas Odiot, who worked as a modeller for Garrard's in London from 1821 to 1823. On his return to Paris, C-N Odiot brought with him not only die-stamping equipment and other new technology, but also a taste for the rococo revival designs then popular in England.
