A WESTERN ASIATIC BRONZE HELMET

Of domed shape with cut-away frontal recess, pierced around the perimeter, 7 3/8 in. (18.7 cm.) high; and a group of blades and axes comprising four flat crescentic axe heads of 'epsilon' shape with three rear projections, each pierced for attachment to shaft, 14 in. (35.5 cm.) long max.; a flat axe with gently flaring blade and tapered end, 7½ in. (19 cm.) long; a dagger, incised linear decoration on the blade, the hilt with applied pellet decoration, 10 5/8 in. (27 cm.) long, all circa 3rd millennium B.C.; and a leaf-shaped blade with wide tang pierced once for attachment, 2nd millennium B.C., 7 5/8 in. (19.3 cm.) long (8)
