The closest published example to the present vase is one of much larger size (49.5 cm.), but with near identical composition, sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 29 October 2001, lot 522.

It is quite rare to find vases decorated with a single flowering branch in the Yuan dynasty, where formal arched floral scrolls are more common. Compare with several yuhuchunping decorated entirely with floral stems spiralling up from the base, the first with chrysanthemum presented by C.T. Loo to the British Museum, illustrated in Oriental Ceramics, The World's Great Collections, Kodansha Series, Tokyo, 1981, vol. 5, no. 143; a second also with chrysanthemum, illustrated in the Catalogue Exhibition of Chinese Art under the Mongols, The Yuan Dynasty, Cleveland Museum of Art, 1968, no. 144. A yuhuchunping decorated entirely with peony scroll of this similar size was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, 27 April 1993, lot 32.
