Naturalistically modelled as a pierced oviform basket of vine-wrapped oak branches, the support cast with three playful putti, on a conforming pierced base, the basket stamped with CHRISTOFLE and the company logo, the base stamped 335850 and several times with E

Lot Essay

A table garniture featuring the same putto grouping and twig-form basket as found on the present lot was shown on Christofle's stand at the 1851 Crystal Palace Exhibition (see H.
