Tiles bearing the same pattern can be found on the mihrab wall of the mosque of Rustem Pasha completed in 1561 (Cimok, Fatih (ed.): The Book of Rüstem Pasa Tiles, Turkey, 1998, p.26 and Denny: The Mosque of Rustem Pasha and the Environment of Change, New York, 1977, pl.62). A number of further examples are known including one in a private collection in Bonn, (Petsopoulos, Yanni: Tulips, Arabesques and Turbans, London, 1982, p.95, pl.104), one in the David Collection (Folsach, Kjeld von: Art from the World of Islam, Copenhagen, 2001, Fig.279, p.193), one in the Sadberk Hanim Museum (Soustiel, Laure: Splendeurs de la Ceramique Ottomane du XVIe au XIXe Siecle, Turkey, 2000, Fig.19, p.70 and frontispiece) and one in the Los Angeles Museum of Art, formerly with Edwin Binney, 3rd (Chandler, William S. (ed.:): Turkish Treasures from the Collection of Edwin Binney, 3rd, 1981 supplement to the 1979 catalogue, San Diego, 1981, ceramic 6A, p.23).
