The gilt-finished mechanism with bimetallic curb, rack-and-pinion transmission with coiled return spring, adjustable blued steel lever mounted in the rack, the white enamel dial with Arabic degree scales for hot, cold and ice, blued steel hand, in plain silver case with hinged back, dial signed, case stamped CL and numbered

Lot Essay

Accompanied by original fitted red leather presentation box with printed inscription den 14 May 1834.

Jørgen Jørgensen (1745-1811) or Jürgen Jürgensen as he called himself as of about 1766, is the founder of the renowned Jürgensen watchmaker dynasty (for a note see lot 236 in this sale).

He set up his own workshop and a watchmaking factory together with Isaak Larpent in 1773.
