TWO DERBY PORCELAIN FIGURES OF A SHEPHERD AND SHEPHERDESS

One a gardener emblematic of Spring, standing beside a flowering bocage wearing brimmed hat, puce and turquoise vest, and iron-red brocade
breeches, the scroll-moulded mound base enriched in turquoise and gilt; the other emblematic of 'Matrimony', the shepherdess in plumed yellow cap, puce drapery, turquoise bodice, iron-red flowered apron and flowered skirt seated on a balustrade before a flowering tree, a candleholder to her right, a lamb at her feet, on a scroll-molded base enriched in gilt; together with a Samson Derby style figure of a hunter, spurious gold anchor mark at the back, the underside incised R and with interlaced S mark for Samson, modeled seated in 18th century dress on a flowering tree stump, the scroll-moulded base enriched in gilt
