The three-masted ship Sarmatian was owned and built by P.V. Valin at Quebec in 1877. Designed with two decks and constructed of wood throughout, she was registered at 1,213 tons gross and measured 190 feet in length with a 37 foot beam. Still trading under her original flag in 1892, she disappears from record soon afterwards.
