Signed Kajikawa, Edo Period (Mid-19th Century)
Oval with attached himotoshi, black lacquer ground, decoration in gold, silver, black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and gold foil, compartments and risers gold nashiji, one side with a bird perched on rockwork beneath plum blossom, the reverse with a ho-o bird, signed in gold hiramaki-e Kajikawa saku and red kakihan
