Unsigned, Edo Period (Late 18th/early 19th Century)
Oval with attached himotoshi, black lacquer ground, decoration in gold, silver and brown hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and inlaid in mother of pearl, with a farmer smoking his pipe beside his resting horse, compartments and risers gold nashiji, unsigned, silver and gilt metal ojime decorated with an insect
