Signed Kakosai, Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
Oval with attached himotoshi, gold ground with gold and silver foil, decoration in gold, black and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, nashiji and gold foil and inlaid in hirazogan and takazogan, compartments and risers gold nashiji, one side with Jo and Uba, the reverse with a pine tree, signed in gold hiramaki-e Kakosai saku and on an inlaid silver tablet Mototoshi with kakihan, gilt metal ojime carved with floral designs
