AN EMPIRE GARNITURE OF GILT METAL-MOUNTED TOLE PEINTE JARDINIERES
CIRCA 1810
Comprising one shaped rectangular and two of flared form, each decorated to simulate portor marble, the rectangular jardinière with lion head rings to the sides and decorated to the front with a horse led by a classically draped figure, on stylised foliate paw feet, the two others decorated with draped figures after the Antique, with conforming feet, each with later removable lining, some redecoration, probably in the 19th Century
The rectangular shaped jardinière: 10¾ in. (27 cm.) high; 15 in. (38 cm.) wide; 10 in. (25.5 cm.) deep
The vases: 16½ in. (42 cm.) high; 9½ in. (24 cm.) wide (3)
