With nickel-finished jewelled movement, patented pivoted detent escapement, glazed display cuvette, the white enamel dial with thin Roman numerals, outer minutes track, moon-style hands, subsidiary seconds, the circular case with plain front lid and plain hinged back, crown release slide to the ribbed band, case numbered, dial and movement signed
55 mm. diam.

Lot Essay

The movement bears three dates for the patent on the chronometer escapement with fausses-cotes decoration - February 1, 1859; April 5, 1864; and March 7, 1867.

The crown of this watch can be removed, by using the slide in the band, in order to use it as a key to set the hands.
