With nickel-finished lever movement, 18 jewels, bimetallic compensation balance, eight adjustments, the silvered matte dial with Roman numerals, the distinctive square-shaped case with stepped riveted bezel, downturned lugs, cabochon sapphire-set crown, together with an 18K gold Cartier deployant buckle, dial and movement signed Cartier, case is handstamped with Cartier reference numbers

Lot Essay

The Santos model was first designed in 1911 and went into production only a few years later. It is now one of the most well-recognized tank models by Cartier.
