Bombé circular, on four lion's paw feet with foliate terminals, with gadrooned borders, the two reeded shell and foliate handles with lion's mask terminals, the partly-fluted slightly domed cover with detachable foliate ring handle on a foliate terminal, the plain liner with small incurved scroll handles, the body and cover engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked on base, cover and liner

The arms are those of Sutton impaling Sutton quartering Manners, for Robert Sutton Esq. (1776-1833) and his wife Mary Georgina (d.1846), daughter of John Manners Sutton of Kelham, co. Nottingham. Robert Sutton served with the 7th Fusiliers was aide-de-camp to Sir R. Abercrombie in Egypt in 1801.
