Maya, Classique Final, env. 550-950 après J.C.
Récipient à bords arrondis sur lesquels sont représentés cinq personnages assis en tailleur et portant un masque à tête de tapir. Quatre personnages avec une jarre placée devant eux et contenant probablement des substances hallucinogènes sont groupés par paires, chacun accomplissant des gestes vigoureux et l'un d'entre eux tient une petite coupe à boire; ils portent tous des turbans, des bijoux et des pagnes à motifs perlés appliqués au doigt. La bordure extérieure du vase est entourée de glyphes indiquant des marques d'emplacement. Peinture orange pâle et noire sur engobe crème.

With inward-curving sides depicting five seated human figures, each crosslegged and wearing a tapir's head as mask, two pairs of figures gesticulating in an animated fashion, each with a jar before them, probably filled with hallucinogens, one character holds a small drinking cup, each clothed in turbans, jewelry and sashed loincloths with a dotted pattern created by finger painting, the rim encircled with glyphs representing "place markers", painted in shades of orange and black against a cream ground.
