Two early 20th-Century compound monocular microscopes,
both by R. & J. Beck Ltd: a black-enamelled London Model 29, no.8691 with draw-tube and rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, with triple nosepiece, simple stage with clips, swinging substage condensor and diaphragm and plano-concave mirror, on a Y-shaped foot, with x6 and x10 eyepieces and Beck 2, 4 and 16mm objectives in an oak case with key (leather carrying handle detached) -- 33.1cm. (13in.) high; and a lacquered-brass model no.26866 with draw-tube and rack and pinion focusing and micrometer fine adjustment, with triple nosepiece, simple stage with clips, swinging substage condensor and plano-convex mirror, on a Y-shaped foot, with one eyepiece and Beck 4 and 16mm objectives in canisters, in a small mahogany case with key and brass carrying handle, a plaque in the door for "CLARKSON'S" OPTICAL STORES 338 HIGH HOLBORN LONDON W.C. -- 27.8cm. (10 7/8in.) high
