A Meissen baluster octagonal teacaddy and a cover
THE TEACADDY CIRCA 1725, LUSTRE 43. MARK, THE LATER COVER WITH GILDER'S 64.
Of inverted baluster form of hexagonal section, the facets painted in a hand similar to P.E. Schindler with Orientals at various pursuits on terraces with flowering shrubs and insects in flight above, one Oriental sifting through objects in a large container, another playing with an exotic bird, several making tea by tables strewn with vessels, the steam from the vessels and the chair of one seated figure enriched in Böttger lustre, the raised shoulder, corner ribs and footrim all richly gilt, the flat circular cover with a gilt sun-burst, the side with a gilt band (small chip to footrim, slight wear to gilt ribs and shoulder, minute wear to gilt footrim)
