The elaborate scroll frame engraved with foliage and secured by four cylindrical pillars with blued steel screws, single chain fusee with maintaining power, the great wheel, centre wheel and third wheel with six crossings and screwed to the collets, the escapement atop the movement with large ruby endstone to cut bimetallic balance with wedge-shaped heat compensation weights and large blued steel helical spring, Earnshaw-type spring detent escapement with jewelled locking stone, the silvered Roman chapter ring with blued steel Breguet-style hands, subsidiary silvered seconds ring above with foliate engraved silvered scroll below engraved CHRONOMETER, the clock standing on a maroon velvet oval base and further supported on an ebonised base with concave and gadrooned mouldings and foliate carved feet, the front applied with a brass plaque engraved MADE BY THE LATE MR CRAIKE WATCH MAKER DALKEITH
