The hood with rebuilt stepped top and later brass frieze panel, inset columns with ebonised capitals, glazed side panels, the rectangular trunk door with later moulded frame, on plinth with moulded skirting, the 12in. square brass dial with floral engraving and scored line to the borders, cherub and coronet spandrels to a silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring signed John Wither London, with sword-hilt half hour and starburst half quarter hour markers, the matted centre with chevron engraving around the date aperture, subsidiary silvered seconds ring and ringed winding holes, blued steel hands, the five ringed pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on replaced(?) bell
