A Victorian engraved gilt-brass desk timepiece, third quarter 19th century
The arched case flanked by pilasters and with recessed florally engraved panel below the dial, with supports to the side and sprung swivel support to the base, easel support to the rear with side release catch, a drop-down door with sprung release catch opening to reveal the escapement and hand-set, the silvered dial within a floral trellis frame, with Roman chapter ring and engraved centre, blued steel fleur-de-lis hands, with signature on a reserve below THO.S COLE, the eight day key-less wind single barrel movement with vertically positioned lever escapement with plain steel three arm balance -- 6in. (15cm.) high
