A George IV oak and mahogany longcase clock, circa 1820
The hood with swan neck pediment, with brass-capped band-inlaid outset columns, the arched trunk door flanked by conforming half length pilasters, with panelled plinth raised on bracket feet, the 14in. wide painted dial with a young boy with a birdnest in the arch, with floral spandrels to Arabic chapters with dot minute track, the centre with subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed G. SAVAGE/HUDDERSFIELD, brass hands, pinned directly to the eight day four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; movement possibly later -- 82¾in. (210cm.) high
