The hood with dentil mouldings and with carved bezel to the glass, conforming mouldings above the panelled trunk door flanked by pilasters, on tapring plinth centred by a swag moulding, the 11¼in. diameter painted iron Arabic convex dial with brass hands, pinned directly to the eight day movement with four tapering pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell -- 77in. (196cm.) high
