A George III large mahogany and brass-mounted quarter-chiming bracket clock on bracket, circa 1800
The case with brass ball finial to pagoda pediment inset with cut brass frets (one lacking), further ball finials to the angles below (one lacking), with brass handles to the sides above arched brass fishscale sound frets, both front and rear angles with brass stop-fluted pilasters, with brass-lined front door and on brass bracket feet, the white painted Roman dial with subsidiary date ring below XII and strike/silent ring above, gilt-metal hands, the substantial eight daqy movement with six pillars (the lower ones threaded for bolts, now lacking), with triple gut fusees and anchor escapement, hour strike on bell and quarter chimes on eight bells, trip repeat, the back plate with scooped corners and engraved border, with matching engraving to the movement securing brackets, pendulum holdfast, signed Green & Barry/Bristol Wells -- 27in.(69cm.) high; with a brass-lined wall bracket on scroll support, probably associated -- 17¼in.
