The 11in. square gilt-brass dial spuriously signed along the lower edge Tho. Tompion London, with Tompion style gilt-brass double-screwed Indian head spandrels (associated, now secured with single screws) to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with sword-hilt half hour and diamond half quarter hour markers, the matted centre with with narrow subsiidary seconds ring cutting in to the chapter ring at XII, engraved with a dove and compass design, with blued steel hands (minute repaired), early 18th century; now with three-train quarter chiming movement with anchor escapemet, with hour strike on bell and quarters on eight bells, inscribed on the back plate Repaired/BY/WM.
