A Regency mahogany longcase clock, circa 1810
The breakarch hood with brass ball and spire finials, ebony line inlays to the front and part reeded canted angles, with circular sound frets to the sides, the arched trunk door flanked by part-fluted three-quarter length half columns with ebonised capitals, above plinth with raised panel and on bracket feet, the 12in. diameter silvered and engraved Roman dial with subsidiary seconds ring, signed Barwise/LONDON, strike/silent lever above XII, with blued steel spade hands, the eight day movement with shouldered plates joined by five pillars, deadbeat escapement and rack strike on bell, the ebonised wood-rod pendulum with adjustment to the crutch-piece and brass lenticular bob with calibrated rating nut -- 83½in. (212cm.) high
