FIRST EDITION. BUNTING'S FIRST BOOK, 'EXTREMELY RARE' (Guedalla). Bunting's first collection, which he prefaced with the statement 'These poems are byproducts of an interrupted and harrassed apprenticeship. I thank Margaret De Silver for bailing me out of Fleet Street: after two years convalescence from an attack of journalism I am beginning to recover my honesty'. The book's publication was apparently entirely unnoticed, with the exception of a review by the American poet Louis Zukofsky in Poetry (vol. XXXVIII, no. 3, June 1931). The manuscript corrections amend p.10, l.11 from 'had' to ''d 've' and p.29, l.12 from 'carresses' to 'caresses'. Guedalla Bunting A1.
