The Book of Antelopes. London: Taylor and Francis for R.H. Porter, 1894-1900. 4 volumes, 4° (282 x 218mm). 100 handcoloured lithographic plates by and after J. Smit and J. Wolf, printed by M. & N. Hanhart. Title vignettes and illustrations. Contemporary green half morocco gilt by H.M. Porter, gilt-lettered spine compartments, top edges gilt, others uncut (spines slightly faded). Provenance: Gilmour of Lundin and Montrave (armorial bookplate).

FINE COPY OF THIS BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED WORK. The plates were prepared under the supervision of Sir Victor Alexander Brooke who died in 1891 without having completed the text.
