George Francis Arthur MULOCK (1882-1963). [The Charts of the "Discovery" Antarctic Expedition London: Royal Geographical Society & Edward Stanford, 1908.] 8° (246 x 155mm). 8pp. pamphlet. Original blue thin card wrappers, titled on upper cover, mounted within original blue cloth portfolio containing 6 loose folding coloured lithographic charts (occasional light soiling and small tears to folds of charts). Provenance: H.T. Ferrar (pencilled notes to upper margin of 5 maps, 2 of these with later pencilled alterations to 'Granite Harbour').

FIRST EDITION, RARE AND A FINE ASSOCIATION COPY. Ferrar served as geologist to Scott's first expedition and a glacier was named in his honour. From 1919 until his death he worked on the New Zealand Geological Survey. 'Mulock... was selected to replace Shackleton... [He] proved to be an enormous asset: he collated the cartographic data and prepared these six detailed charts of the newly discovered lands and coasts.
