The oval inro decorated in gold, red and black takamaki-e on a kinji ground with a scene of Saishi nursing her elderly mother-in-law on a raised platform while she watches over her own son, the faces, hands and breast of Saishi and her son inlaid in ivory, interiors nashiji; fitted with a mother-of-pearl ojime carved as a chrysanthemum flower, and an ivory Shibayama-style netsuke of Hotei's treasure sack inlaid with the attributes of the Seven Household Gods in shell and colored ivory, signed Shibayama on an inlaid shell reserve
