Designed with five crabs among grasses on a seashore, the crabs rendered in red lacquer carved in high relief and the leaves of the plants inlaid in mother-of-pearl and applied with kirigane, the water silver and gold togidashi, the ground kinji with sparse hirame; interior cases nashiji; fitted with a bead ojime with mitsu-tomoe and a large ebony wood netsuke of a seated monkey holding a wasp between his fingers and a wasp's nest between his feet, signed Baiseki chokoku kore (carved by Baiseki) and sealed Sha
