Edo period (19th century), signed Koma Kyuhaku saku and Ishiguro Naotsune (for the metalwork) on an inlaid gilt-metal reserve
Designed in gold, silver, black and red takamaki-e, hiramaki-e and togidashi with kirigane highlights and soft-metal inlays on a kinji ground with Jo and Uba, the Takasago couple, beneath a pine tree, the reverse with cranes flying before a setting sun over crashing waves and rocks, interiors nashiji; with a gilt-metal pierced bead ojime with flowers and an ivory netsuke of a dancer, signed Homin
